Claudette (The Blonde Bombshell) Monroe
Soft Screams Magazine
Premiere Featured Model
I suppose a tree really does grow in Brooklyn. My dear sweet bestie, Damali Conceptuals, has once again delivered to me a high impact, high quality model from his hometown of Philadelphia, PA. The model is the sexxxalishus Claudette Monroe who Damali has nicknamed his “Blonde Bombshell” and sweet mother, this model is every bit of that and then some!
I am especially proud of Damali’s choice this month because he went against conventional wisdom’s and the usual and customary aesthetics of some young, pre-pubescent, size 0, with an IQ to match internet model. If you look through our pages on Soft Screams Magazine you can find thousands of them that fit this description. Claudette Monroe is all woman. While she never discloses her age, it’s no secret that she is NOT some overdeveloped teenager or underdeveloped MILF with pigtails trying to hide her desperation under the cloak of sexual promiscuity. When you read her interview, you will discover that Claudette Monroe is clearly a very intelligent and very professional woman who just happens to be built like a brick shit house.
However, you know the question that I had to ask Damali, since it’s the most obvious one. Why Claudette? Once again, I e-mailed Damali about 2.500 different models for him to choose from and he chose Claudette Monroe. Damali responded:
” I had been secretly admiring her work from afar for a long time. I share studio space with another photographer named Syd Redmon, who has shot Claudette several times in the past, so it was really easy for me to visualize what a shoot between she and I would be like. Thanks to Syd, we used to share our work in the same Facebook Photographer Group. Luckily, Claudette offered to shoot with me at this abandoned car parts plant in Philadelphia and I was thrilled. However, she sustained an injury right before our shoot, and she was so genuinely apologetic and patient about doing a re-shoot that it floored me to be honest. She also followed up with me the entire healing process and soon as she was better she hit me up about the re-shoot. Most of photographers know that these behaviors are very uncharacteristic when it comes to models. Then she shows up on time with her delightful boyfriend who is a photographer as well as her security escort and BOOM! Claudette just gives you all out modeling expertise with her posing, patience, and ability to take directions without hesitation. We managed to get so much quality work done so swiftly that my head was spinning.”
That was quite an adventure, but fate has a funny way of drafting these things for people who were meant to be together. I have seen the proofs from this shoot and we are only going to show you a few of them in this feature. Together they created this stunning tale of a drug addiction gone horribly wrong and I have never seen a model switch characters from such a sexxxalishus and glamorous shoot to such melancholy fueled misery so quickly. This drug addicts shoot is still in post production to be aired on Soft Screams TV via the internet, Comcast and Verizon Fios very soon.
So my dirty little darlings, keep your hands up where I can see them so that you don’t go blind and enjoy the incredible beauty and talents of Soft Screams Magazine’s October featured Premiere Model, Miss Claudette Monroe!
Belladonna Del Rio
What’s your background in modeling?
I have been modeling for about 5 years now.
When and why did you get started?
I started around October 2010, at the time, it was a means to make some money. I was in a bad place financially and it was a big help.
Was it for the glamour? The money? Pure kicks?
At the time, I did it purely for the money, but as I started to see the results of my shoots, I really loved the way the images turned out.
Who are some of your favorite models and photographers, and why?
I’ve been fortunate to work with some great photographers, I don’t know that I could pick a favorite lol!
What is fun and rewarding about modeling?
Seeing the results after the shoot is the most rewarding in my opinion.
What do you dislike about modeling?
I really cannot stand people who do not deliver on what we agree on. It’s the main reason I don’t shoot much anymore. It seems like every time I shoot, the photographer shows up late, wants to keep me later than the agreed upon end time, takes forever to get me edits, etc. It has really ruined the experience for me.
What advice do you have for other aspiring models?
I would say check references with people you shoot with, always be early for your shoot, and be prepared.
How do you prepare for a modeling shoot?
My preparation is kind of a three-tiered approach. A few days before the shoot, I make sure that my hair and nails are done so they look fresh. The night before the shoot, I get all of my wardrobe, shoes, props, etc. ready and packed up. The day of the shoot is when I do my makeup. I always show up to my shoots ready to work.
What distinguishes a good model from a bad one?
I cant really say what makes a model bad, I haven’t seen any in person. I’ve heard rumors and stories, but I just try to be a professional and hope that the Photographer enjoys working with me.
What distinguishes a good photograph from a bad one?
You can really see the difference between a good and bad image, just on how its framed, focused, and lit.
What distinguishes between a good photographer and a bad one? You do not have to share any names if you don’t want to but tell our readers about the worse experience you had with a photographer. Is there anything you could have done to prevent this from happening?
I’ve worked with some great photographers and some not so good ones. I think a good photographer is someone who respects you and wants to truly collaborate to create great images. I worked with a photographer who tried to touch me before and it was terrifying. I was completely alone and so scared. It’s the reason I will not shoot without an escort.
Can YOU tell me why this image below is MY favorite?
I would say the emotion that I’m showing in the image. Its not just about the body, or the outfit, or the pose, but the emotional look on my face. What is she thinking? Is she reflecting on her life? Is she in deep thought? “Beauty surrounded by decay.”
What do tell or advise a younger “ Claudette Monroe “ the night before her first shoot ever?
I would advise her to relax, try to have fun with it. You only get one first shoot!
